Organizational Affiliation & Institutional Framework
Guwahati Art Club is an organizational wing functioning under Sankardev Art Society, and operates within the institutional framework and objectives of the Society.
Guwahati Art Club has been established as an initiative of Sankardev Art Society to promote and facilitate activities relating to art, photography, videography, visual arts, creative education, artistic practice, exhibitions, workshops, seminars, talks, scholarships, grants, and other cultural and educational programmes.
The establishment and functioning of Guwahati Art Club are pursuant to the provisions and powers contained in the Trust Deed of Sankardev Art Society, including the provision under which the Society may establish, support, operate, or facilitate subsidiary, affiliated, or organizational wings and initiatives for the advancement of its stated objectives.
Financial Administration
As Guwahati Art Club functions as an organizational wing of Sankardev Art Society, all financial transactions, receipts, payments, collections, disbursements, grants, sponsorships, and other financial activities undertaken in connection with the Club shall be administered and accounted for by Sankardev Art Society in accordance with its applicable financial and administrative procedures.
Guwahati Art Club does not independently represent itself as a separate legal or financial entity. Where financial transactions are undertaken in connection with the activities of the Club, they shall be conducted through and/or under the financial administration of Sankardev Art Society.
Grants, Scholarships & Financial Assistance
Any grant, scholarship, fellowship, award, financial assistance, or similar programme announced or offered under the name of Guwahati Art Club shall be undertaken on behalf of Sankardev Art Society, unless expressly stated otherwise.
Such programmes shall be subject to the approval, policies, financial procedures, and administrative oversight of Sankardev Art Society. Any funds received or disbursed in connection with such programmes shall be handled and accounted for by Sankardev Art Society.
Institutional Identity
While Guwahati Art Club may maintain its own name, visual identity, website, social media presence, programmes, and public communications, it functions within the institutional framework of Sankardev Art Society.
The Club's activities are intended to further the aims and objectives of Sankardev Art Society, particularly in the fields of art education, photography, visual arts, cultural development, creative practice, and public engagement with the arts.
Guwahati Art Club is therefore an organizational wing of Sankardev Art Society and functions under its institutional, administrative, and financial framework.
Our Hardworking Team
Nilayjyoti Talukdar
Head of PhotographyNilay is a renowned photographer born in Guwahati, Assam. He began his career in product and food photography and later shifted his focus toward architecture and interior photography.
He has mentored and taught at various institutes, including the Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communication and the Raghu Rai Centre for Photography.
His street-style and landscape photography have been exhibited across India, including at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, the Lalit Kala Akademi in Chennai, and Gallery Square Circles in Auroville, Pondicherry. He is also a founding member of the Delhi Photography Club.
Biswajit Das
Head of VideographyBiswajit Das is a documentary filmmaker and animator based in Guwahati, India.
He has created short documentary films, animation videos, and a 13-episode documentary series for Doordarshan Arunprabha since 2011. He has also made several experimental films and edited numerous documentary films and videos.
He has taught filmmaking at various colleges and seminars across the country and is the recipient of the One World Media Fellowship 2022.
Rohit Nag
Social Media ManagerA self-confessed "grammar nazi," Rohit has been a social media manager, digital marketer, strategist, and content creator/copywriter for over 7 years now and has had the opportunity to work with some really great clients as well as collaborators.
He has been working mostly in the local market, considering his expertise in three local languages and multiple dialects. However, his previous experience of over 12 years in the outsourcing domain grants him added leverage spanning both domestic and international clients.
Currently, he manages the social media accounts, strategies, and content creation for well-known politicians, screenwriters, and actors/directors, as well as for doctors, other professionals, and small and medium enterprises. He is also the co-founder of multimedia solutions company DesignOLogic Asia with his best friend Milan Kr. Boro.
Kumarjit Debnath
Technical Support-ITKumarjit was born in Guwahati, Assam. He did his graduation in B.Com. and moved to Delhi to pursue an MBA in marketing and IT. After completing his PG, he worked for a few national and multinational companies for almost 10 years.
He always had an interest in IT and wanted to start his own venture. Along with his job, he started learning about web-development and internet networking. In 2016, he moved back to Guwahati and started his own firm, M/s KD Infotek, which is into the retailing of IT products and services. His core area of specialization is in networking support and web application development.
Kumarjit has established himself as an IT professional in Guwahati since 2016 and has been working for many business houses and individuals across India.
In GAC, he is responsible for IT and technology support.
